πŸ› οΈ Install Guide – Step by Step

Step 1: Test Your Product

Before you begin disassembly, test your DRL boards using a 12V power source or the RGBW controller. Make sure:

  • All colors light up correctly

  • You understand the wiring layout
Refer to our RGBW Wiring Guide if needed.

Step 2: Remove Front Bumper

To access the headlights:

  1. Turn wheels inward for easier access to inner fender liners.

  2. Remove push clips and 10mm bolts under the bumper, in the wheel wells, and along the top radiator support.

  3. Gently pull the bumper forward and set aside on a clean towel or blanket.

Step 3: Remove Headlights

  • Remove the 10mm bolts securing each headlight.

  • Disconnect the headlight harness.

  • Carefully lift out the headlight housing.

Step 4: Open the Headlights

You can open the headlights using one of two methods:

πŸ”₯ Oven Method (Recommended)

  • Preheat to 230Β°F

  • Place headlight on a baking sheet for 10–15 minutes

  • Use a flathead screwdriver or trim tool to gently pry the lens from the housing

πŸ”₯ Heat Gun Method

  • Use a heat gun to warm the edges of the headlight

  • Soften the sealant gradually while prying open the lens

➑️ Refer to our full guide or video: How to Open & Reseal Headlights

Step 5: Install DRL Boards

  • Identify the factory DRL board and remove the screws holding it in place.

  • Replace it with the RGBW DRL board using the same screws.

  • Use gloves to avoid leaving residue on the LED surface.

  • Ensure wires exit the housing through a grommet or small drilled hole. Seal this area afterward to prevent moisture.

Step 6: Reseal the Headlights

  • Clean off old sealant.

  • Apply new butyl sealant or silicone around the channel.

  • Press the lens back into place firmly.

  • Optionally reheat and clamp the housing shut for a tighter seal.

Step 7: Reinstall Headlights & Bumper

  • Reconnect the harness and mount the headlights back into position.

  • Reinstall the bumper using the reverse steps of removal.

Step 8: Final Wiring

  • Connect the RGBW wires to your Bluetooth controller or existing RGBW hub.

  • Use included wiring guide or visit the Wiring Help Center.

  • Secure all wiring using zip ties and keep away from hot/moving components.

  • Test again to confirm operation of all lighting zones.

⚠️ Pro Tips

  • Let the sealant cure fully (12–24 hours) before washing or driving through rain.

  • Take photos during disassembly to assist with reassembly.
