🔧 Step-by-Step Installation:
1. Prep the Vehicle
-
Park your Q50 on a level surface.
-
Turn off the engine and remove the key.
-
Pop the hood
2. Remove OEM Emblem
-
Open the hood and locate the backside of the front grille.
-
Use a 10mm socket and trim tool to remove any fasteners or plastic nuts securing the factory emblem.
-
Gently push the OEM emblem out from the back. Avoid prying from the front to prevent grille damage.
3. Install the New LED Emblem
-
Feed the LED emblem’s wiring through the same opening the OEM wires came through.
-
Align the new emblem carefully with the grille. Do not press hard on the face—support it from the sides or edges as you press into place.
-
Secure using the factory clips or included hardware. If fitment is loose, use 3M tape or panel clips for added hold.
4. Route the Wiring
-
Guide the wires along the factory harness inside the engine bay.
-
Use zip ties to secure wires away from hot engine components or moving parts.
-
Bring the wiring towards the fuse box or pass it through the firewall (depending on where you plan to power it).
5. Connect Power
You have two main options:
Option A: Fuse Tap (Recommended for DIYers)
-
Tap into a fuse that powers on with ignition or parking lights (e.g., Fuse #37 or similar).
-
Use an "Add-a-Fuse" adapter and connect the power wire.
-
Ground the black wire to a clean chassis bolt.
Option B: Hardwire to Parking Light or DRL
-
Splice into the vehicle’s parking light or DRL wiring (typically located near the headlights).
-
Connect red wire to 12V+ and black to ground.
-
Use electrical tape or heat shrink to secure the connection.
6. Connect to app & Test
-
Download and Open your LED control app (LED LAMP)
-
Cycle through colors and modes to confirm the emblem works as intended.
App name: LED Lamp
📶 Troubleshooting & Notes
-
Bluetooth is Built-In:
The Bluetooth controller is integrated directly into the emblem—no external box is needed.
⚡ If the emblem does not light up:
-
Double-check your 12V power source is active (ignition or parking light circuit).
-
Make sure the ground wire is securely connected to bare metal (not painted or plastic).
-
Try switching to a different known 12V power source (such as another fuse or accessory line).
📱 If the app cannot connect:
-
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
-
Use the correct app: LED LAMP (available on iOS and Android).
-
Try restarting the app and power cycling the vehicle (turn off, then back to ignition).
-
Stand close to the emblem with no metal or obstruction in between.
🌈 If some colors are missing or dim:
-
Check for loose, pinched, or damaged wires.
-
Verify all connections are solid and not shorting out.
-
Make sure the power supply is consistent and not fluctuating.
