When choosing multicolor lighting, the two most popular options are RGBW and Flow Series LEDs. Both offer great color output, but they are designed for different looks and uses.

What is RGBW?

RGBW stands for Red, Green, Blue, and White. These LEDs can create multiple colors while also producing a true white light thanks to the dedicated white chip.

RGBW is a great choice if you want a clean, bright, simple lighting setup with the option for both colors and true white.

What is Flow Series?

Flow Series LEDs, also called Color Chasing LEDs, are designed for animated lighting effects. Each LED can be controlled individually, allowing colors to chase, flow, and move across the strip or product.

Best for:

  • Color chasing effects
  • Show-style lighting
  • Car shows and events
  • Dynamic animations
  • Eye-catching custom builds

Flow Series can still display solid colors, but it does not have a dedicated white chip. The white will usually appear more cool or bluish compared to RGBW.

Main Differences

RGBW is best if you want brighter, cleaner lighting with true white and simple color control.

Flow Series is best if you want animated effects, color chasing, and a more attention-grabbing look.
